Connally Memorial Medical Center’s Edward Elmer, M.D. has been re-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in March of this year, effective until 2022.

The extensive re-certification process includes Board review of Dr. Elmer’s practice performance, surgical case outcomes, and regulatory compliance, as well as a knowledge-based examination. Dr. Elmer ranked in the top fifth of applicants taking the examination.  “I am very grateful that the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery has conferred this honor upon  me,” Elmer stated, “and I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving patients in the caring and expert environment of Connally Memorial Medical Center.”

Dr. Elmer graduated from Harvard Medical School, Cum Laude and completing his Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, The Children’s Hospital and Beth Israel Hospitals. His Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship was completed at the Children’s Hospital and Health Center in San Diego, California.
