Connally Memorial Medical Center is adopting a 100% tobacco-free campus policy effective July 1, 2019. As CEO, I am committed and in full support of this decision to provide a safer and healthier environment for our team members, patients and guests.

Adopting a 100% tobacco-free campus-wide policy not only eliminates secondhand smoke exposure for patients, staff and visitors, but also demonstrates Connally Memorial Medical Center’s commitment as a community leader in protecting the health of the public.

With this policy in place, we are not only creating a smoke-free environment, but we are also eliminating all tobacco use, including smokeless/chewing tobacco and electronic tobacco products. We will disallow the use of tobacco and vaping products on hospital grounds and all off-site properties owned or leased by Connally Memorial Medical Center. This includes sidewalks, walkways, driveways, and parking areas.

Sincerely,

Bob Gillespie, CEO
