Dr. Thomas J. Willson is a highly qualified and board-certified Otolaryngologist with extensive education and experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 2010 and holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Dr. Willson completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium and pursued further specialization with a Fellowship in Rhinology & Cranial Base Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Currently serving as Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the San Antonio Military Medical Center since July 2020, Dr. Willson also holds academic appointments as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio and Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His dedication to education is evident through various teaching activities and guest lectures, and he has contributed significantly to research with numerous publications and presentations at national conferences. Additionally, Dr. Willson has a strong military background, having served in the United States Army Active Duty from 1997 to 2001.
In his time away from his practice, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family, caring for horses, and being a barbeque MASTER!
